This listing is specifically for the nativity pictured. Not a preorder. You will receive this exact piece.
This Nativity includes glass beads and semi precious stone beads. It is 5x7.5" Clay Nativity scene in an 11x14 frame with a double canvas mat. (It has not been framed yet so if you prefer a larger frame size we can talk details). The second photo is to show size difference between the two clay nativities. The frame in the photo is just for reference. It will be a larger frame.
I started making clay paintings 5 years ago when I was looking for a way to bring more texture to my paintings. I had the idea to try using clay and it has been the best journey. I loved creating something that hasn't been done before (I'm sure it's been done somewhere, but for me, I had never seen it. And even when I tried looking for it, couldn't find it).
Each piece takes hours and hours of work starting with mixing all the colors. Every color you see has been hand mixed starting with just red, yellow, blue, and brown. My kids love helping with this process so a lot of these colors have been made with their help.
Watching the way the light hits a clay piece differently might just be your new favorite past time once you have one of my pieces. It is calming and grounding and there are few things I love more.
The nativity is durable and hard to the touch but you should still avoid touching the artwork itself to avoid getting oils and dirt on the artwork.. You can remove any dust or oil by wiping gently with a dry microfiber towel.
